the children (zillenials (me)) yearn for web 2.0 web 1.0 an internet experience untainted by corporate monopolies and techno-feudalism connection and autonomy, no more and no less, just like everyone else:

so here we are, with an attempt to translate that to my time on the internet (and now yours!)

Where are we?

Eventually, a wizard tower.

I missed/was slightly too young for the heyday of having your own slightly odd personal site, so I'm making this as a fun way to finally learn to use HTML and CSS (and apparently to get into making pixel art).

I am a big proponent of whimsy, and I love the classic fantasy wizard aesthetic with all its attendant bells and whistles silly sartorial choices (think Discworld, that particular variety of metal album covers, and fantasy fiction cover art ). So, I'm going to make myself a weird and sprawling Tower.

What is this?

I am incapable of not being overambitious in my projects + I'm a PhD student with limited spare time: so this is going to be a slow and long-term thing to build. I'm writing the code all from scratch and making my own design elements.

I currently intend this site to be a more interactive and way to store bookmarks, thoughts, and some of my own projects; a compendium of stuff I'm into; a catalogue, if you will.

Some starting visions I have are

• a functional blog/journal page
• a gallery linking to other people's art I enjoy
• a collection of my own art
• reference pages for various hobbies
